Smooth Jazz Lounge - Atlanta

MICHAEL ALEXANDER of J.A.M.S. Promotions and his headliner - guitarist/vocalist NICK COLIONNE - bask in the success of their Smooth Jazz Lounge at the InterContinental Buckhead. Saxophonist WARREN HILL, whose set was hard to follow, is pictured giving birthday wishes to KIM HICKS, who was Bejeweled by Gina. Glowing host Rene Miller of WCLK-FM and Joni Hawkins of Brand It! contributed to the splendid evening that featured both artists venturing out into the elegant ballroom to a delighted audience. A tribute show for Wayman Tisdale at GA's Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre was announced. On the July 18th bill: Norman Brown, Euge Groove, Brian Simpson and Eric Darius.

Mother's Day Biker Rally - Newark

The annual Mother's Day Biker Rally, sponsored by the Newark Knights Motorcycle Club, was attended by hundreds of bikers from dozens of clubs throughout the NY/NJ area.
On the street, all was love. On the side: deals were made, bad blood negotiated, and all past beefs settled. Woo Da Chef, Iceberg and Big were among the attendees. Images by Glen Frieson - Corporate Photo Services

My Black Is Beautiful - Charlotte

Lalah Hathaway, Eric Roberson (who has a new CD out in June) and DJ Frances Jaye (who is launching a new website) were among the participants of the My Black is Beautiful Tour which I caught up to in Charlotte. Missed out on seeing Tasha Smith and A.J. Johnson's panel discussions but did get a heck of a massage in one of the pamper centers. Chicago on May 30th is the next and final stop with Angela Bassett scheduled to appear. For more info, visit: www.myblackisbeautiful.com

Taste of the Nation - Charlotte

Add some of Charlotte's top bartenders, chefs, Panthers stars Thomas Jones and Muhsin Muhammad, and foodies together and you have the making of one of the town's premier charity events: The Taste of The Nation. Executive Chef Anthony Watkins and Marketing Manager Andrew Morgan were a big hit with delectibles from the menu at The Capital Grille. A recent visit was superb. Watkins' Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers, and Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella with Vine Ripe Tomatoes rank among the city's best dishes. Tasty Clips also loved the offerings from area restaurants: Basil Thai; Mez; Savannah Red; The Westin (Chef Tessia Harmon gets down); and Zink American Kitchen. Look for more detailed reports on these spots in the pages at http://www.tastyclips.com/.
